Planning & Zoning is a division of the Community Development Department and is responsible for the following services:
- Site Plan Review Applications
- Special Exception and Variance Applications
- Implementing & updating the Charlotte 2050 Comprehensive Plan
- Zoning District ("Rezoning") & Future Land Use Map changes
- Implementing & updating the Land Development Regulations
- Preliminary Plats and Final Plats
- Plat Vacations
- Code enforcement of certain sections of the county's Code of Laws & Ordinances
- Staff support for the Planning & Zoning Board, the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Code Enforcement Special Magistrate
- Community Planning
- Impact Fees
- Other Planning Services
